En Oostfrees vertellt- eine Ostfriesin erzählt- An East Frisian tells

Welcome or how we great  each other in Eastfrisia , "Moin".

A gentle breeze always blows across the vast landscape. The air tastes of salt. As my feet dig into the fine sand of the beach, my gaze is lost in the endless expanse of the sea. This is a land with its own unique history of freedom and everyday life on the German North Sea coast, a history that has shaped the people and the way of life here.
I am one of those people!

Far from home, I miss the sea breeze that creeps around the houses like an old friend, the smell of the sea, and the people whose words originate born in an old forgotten language.
When I left my home in 2016 and moved from East Frisia to Lower Bavaria, I felt a deep longing within me. Homesickness set in and has accompanied my days far from the coast ever since. But what does home actually mean? Is it the land, the people, the customs, the language, or the familiar places and stories that are anchored deep in my heart as memories?

As a child, I hung on my father's every word when he told stories of his sea voyages. I especially loved listening to him when he slipped into Low German. This is how I experienced the storm and the fear of the men when the large herring logger became a plaything of the sea like a small nutshell..  In this way, I became part of his world, far away from the mainland. Our lives were inextricably linked to the sea, and thus it profoundly shaped my life and childhood. Much of what I know today, and who I am today, lies in the roots of my homeland. But my journey doesn't just take me through the vast land bordering the North Sea; I also look across the Atlantic. While browsing through old photo albums, I saw two children wearing feather headdresses. Memories flooded back of us romping around the house with our hobbyhorses. America, the land of unlimited opportunities and the home of the people we call "Indians," is just a click away. But what do we really know about the Native Americans who seem so foreign and yet so familiar?

As free as a seagull flies out onto the open sea, I want to let my thoughts wander freely, seeking answers to the questions that crystallize as I write my stories. Thus, I embark on a very special journey through the world of thoughts and words with my research vessel. It has weighed anchor and is now sailing through the vast sea of data, searching for answers! Our world is full of colors and secrets. Our past and present are the sculptors of the future. Learning, communication, and immersing oneself in new worlds of thought are valuable companions on this journey, and so you will also find children thoughts  and impressions of indigenous nations on these pages.
I would now like to invite you to join me on this very special voyage through space and time!
