Everyday life as the seasons change
Autumn
Martini evening
A clicking noise. A small flame shoots out of the long tube of the lighter. It is looking for the wick that stretches towards it in the heart of the candle. For a moment the fire caresses the small fuse. Then they are united and it seems as if they are dancing together. Warm light now spreads inside the porcelain vessel. Its brightness isn't enough to illuminate the entire kitchen, but around it it drives away the darkness. Like a small sun that stands at the center of the universe and whose light watches over its stars.
My little teapot, which has the same pattern as the warmer, joins it. While the tea is still steeping a little, I open the outside blinds a small gap. Darkness welcomes me beyond, but the first signs of dawn are already visible. As the first hot tea flows into my cup, the small candle captivates me once again. Her warm light falls on my hands. The former children's hands now show traces of age.A smile crosses my face. I can still see the wooden stick that was firmly stuck in my fist and sometimes the second one had to come to her aid in order to be able to hold the weight of the lantern at the end of the stick. In the middle was the small candle. In its light we children went out and carried its light from house to house.
"I go with my lantern"
On November 10th it's that time again and the children go from house to house.
