En Oostfrees vertellt- eine Ostfriesin erzählt- An East Frisian tells

"Pot watcher"
"Krinthstuut"- Raisin bread
I felt like a delicious slice of "Krinntstuut" with butter. Since our East Frisian raisin bread is hard to come by outside of my home country, I decided to bake it myself. The latter is not exactly one of my great passions, but I set out to get the ingredients. I found the recipe in my cookbook that I had been given as a gift many years ago. A collection of East Frisian dishes.

Ingredients: 500g flour, 40g fresh yeast, ¼ l milk, 60g lard or butter, 50g sugar, 250g raisins. If you like, you can add 50g Sukkade.

Preparation:
The yeast is mixed with 3 tablespoons lukewarm milk and ½ teaspoon sugar. Half of the flour is put in a deep bowl. Make a well in the middle, put the yeast in it, dust it with flour and put it, covered, in a warm place for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the milk with the butter in a saucepan. Now stir in the lukewarm milk mixture and knead in the remaining flour. Knead until the dough pulls away from the bowl. Now it has to rise again for 30 minutes, covered and in a warm place. When the dough has doubled in size, add the raisins and knead briefly again.
I formed a loaf of bread by hand and placed it on the baking sheet. The recipe said at medium heat, bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes.

                                                           Enjoy your meal!

I try not to forget my environmental awareness. I haven't used baking paper for many months, but a silicone mat. I found an interesting video on this.
