The story of freedom
We East Frisians are often referred to as, "that is a people in itself", and that we are rough, stubborn and peculiar. If that means that I think with my heart, that I love freedom and that I am very close to nature, then I'm happy to agree. If idiosyncratic means feeling culturally connected with heart and soul to this piece of earth and remembering and passing on its traditions, stories and customs, then I am an idiosyncratic person.Perhaps it is also due to the background, which tells of freedom and independence and has shaped us Frisians to this day. "Eyla Frya Fresena!" Greetings you free Frisians. A greeting that is closely linked to the "Frisian freedom" and the history of East Friesland.
