What is a PowWow?
That was my first question when I heard about this cultural event of the Native Americans.
Various nations come together at these gatherings to dance, sing, socialize and strengthen the community spirit. Traditional powwows serve to honor customs, preserve and celebrate values. The competitions are dance gatherings in which locals and outsiders are invited to this cultural experience and can exchange ideas while the artists compete in championships for cash prizes.
